Yun-Fei ji


This technique, which involves staining, erasing, washing, and restaining a layered, handmade ground, exploits the chemical interaction of the materials that produce a "wrinkled, weathered" look of premature aging.
This way of working, is derived from the classical Literati, scholars in China
and Japan whose poetry, calligraphy, and paintings were supposed primarily to reveal their cultivation and express their personal feelings rather than demonstrate professional skill.
